Thatched Cottage

A Cottage For a Historic Rural Retreat in Wales

Sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms.

Inside are four bedrooms and a stylish blend of contemporary living and antique Welsh furniture. Original authentic wall paintings from the 1700s take you back in time for a memorable country retreat holiday.

There’s plenty of living space in this self-catering holiday cottage in West Wales. A BBQ, log burner and underfloor heating make the cottage an ideal home base in the autumn or when you’re not exploring the beaches of Cardigan Bay on the West Wales coast.

“Staying in the Thatched cottage has been a unique experience, and one that’s made many special memories.”

Thatched Cottage has a fully-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen with dining area leading to a cosy sitting room with comfortable leather furniture, TV, a beautiful inglenook wood-burning stove. Baskets of homegrown firewood are provided free of charge.

There is a spacious double room with an antique standard double bed on the ground floor. The bathroom is located downstairs, plus a separate shower and WC room. As with our other Welsh holiday homes, Thatched Cottage features a hot tub. A wooden staircase leads to three further bedrooms on the first floor.

Historic Welsh Holiday Home

The building is Listed Grade II* and described by Cadw (Wales’ historic environment service) as “an unusually complete late Georgian vernacular farmhouse, an extremely rare survival of this regional building type with its character retained. Well-preserved mid/late C19 additions, the whole a highly attractive group.”

Accessibility Statement

This heritage holiday cottage’s original features include low-height doorways and steps between reception rooms on the ground floor and a wooden staircase with some uneven stairs.
