Celebrating 20 years of hosting events in the Aeron Centre/Canolfan Aeron at Treberfedd Farm.
January 2026
This year it will be 20 years since the Aeron Centre conference venue opened in mid Wales. Between the years 2000 and 2006 the traditional farmstead stone and slate barn was transformed (by Euros Lewis Ltd & Huw Davies) into a warm and relaxed event space. Dad, Jim, saw potential in using this building, the old milking parlour at the heart of the farm, as a meeting place for people staying in the accommodation at Treberfedd Farm.
For the first 10 years it was used a lot to host staff training courses and holidays for the UK wide fostering organisation that he founded. It was a good way of finding a new use for a traditional Welsh building, with its beautiful hand crafted stone work, and to preserve it for future generations. ‘Aeron’ was an easy name to associate with as the views from the venue are panoramic over part of the Dyffryn Aeron which winds its way down to Cardigan Bay.
Since the early days we have hosted so many different types of events. I’ve made a list below, but it’s even included weddings for local people and my own children’s birthday parties.

Hospitality
When social gatherings, workshops, meetings or courses are booked in we always hire a cook for the day and provide home cooked meals. For over 10 years we’ve been lucky to have Sharon’s culinary skills to call on. Her organic beef lasagne using Hereford beef from our own farm is a popular dish, as is the chicken and leek pie. She also makes vegetarian and vegan options with every meal, and always appears the day before to make the cakes! The requirements for every meeting, course or workshop are always slightly different. Fortunately we have Becky, who works in the office at Treberfedd, to assist in designing a bespoke day for the customer so the facilities and food are spot on!
People staying overnight at Treberfedd walk across the courtyard to be welcomed with fresh coffee and breakfast. One day events are brought together with homemade cakes and freshly prepared lunches, such as hot dishes and fresh salads in summer. When available we use veg from local organic Blaencamel farm alongside from the organic farm at Treberfedd: beef, lamb, pork sausages, eggs and apples (for puddings!) supplied by me, the farmer. For al fresco dining in summer we use the large clay pizza oven to provide Treberfedd wood fired pizza parties.
We’d love to hear from you if you are planning a party, work meet up or residential course. The venue can cater for 16 people for boardroom style meetings, up to 20 for less formal training or workshops and in summer up to 40 people for buffet style parties and celebrations.
